Melanijas Hronika plot

On June 14, 1941, by order of Stalin, at least forty thousand inhabitants of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania are arrested, pushed into cattle carts and permanently exiled to Siberia. Among them is the journalist Melanie and his eight-year-old son Andrejs, who are forcibly separated from husband and father Aleksandrs, respectively. The women must act as slaves. Melanie decides to write love letters to her husband.
