"Kickstarting a plan to mop up the mob in one clean sweep!"
Jang Chen (Kye-Sang Yoon) hails from China and now works as a loan shark in Seoul's seedy Chinatown. He is supported by his bloodthirsty henchmen Wei Sung-Rak and Yang-Tae. Jang Chen is quite cruel in his methods of collecting money. Meanwhile, Ma Suk-Do (Dong-Seok Ma) is a detective in the Chinatown area. He tries to keep the peace while two Chinese-Korean gangs take control of the neighborhood. Jang Chen tries to take over this neighborhood.

Last month I coincidentally read an article about this film in the newspaper. Chinese people in Garibong-dong were angry because the film would portray the Chinese and Garibong-dong in a bad light.
The film is not great, but quite entertaining. A bit of torture, swearing, kicking, hitting and stabbing with a touch of humor. Nothing wrong with it.

Tough gangster film with a lot of excessive violence, according to good Korean custom. Normally I don't like that, but in this film Dong-seok Ma provides some much-needed lighthearted moments from time to time. These kinds of casual, humorous roles are really tailor-made for him. Ma single-handedly ensures that this film scores well with me.

Ma Seok-do [Ma Dong-seok] leads an operation through which the chief of police [Gwi-hwa Choi] wants to end the hegemony of some Chinese criminal organizations in Seoul and restore order. Based on the 'Heuksapa Incident', but with action hero Dong-seok as a no-nonsense police officer - who can simultaneously make a phone call and prevent a stabbing - you know you can take this with a grain of salt. The large number of characters can be confusing and the humor feels a bit forced, but this is a great vehicle for Dong-seok and excellent fodder for his fans.
