"Chivalry meets rivalry"
Duke Diver is the manager of a resort. He is also the "champion of everything" within the resort, which includes having fun with the ladies. Then a new privateer suddenly appears on the shore in the form of Leo, a charming military veteran and "citizen of the world" who is shaking things up at Villa Capri. He's not the only one causing a stir, though, so does Suzie.

Mediocre film about a manager of a resort for the elderly who gets competition from a new resident. Although a few entertaining moments, the rivalry between the two men is not very original. Furthermore, it becomes monotonous. The introduced plot can do little to change this. Because of the cast still worth it.

The cover doesn't immediately suggest it, but this was a Christmas movie 
Anyway it is a nice movie. No difficult story, but still watched quickly. The cast was on a roll and it looked good.

Duke Diver [Morgan Freeman] is having a great time as the manager of Villa Capri in sunny Palm Springs. Everything is going smoothly, the women are queuing up for him and he has more than enough time to play poker with his friends. The status quo is disrupted by the arrival of Leo McKay [Tommy Lee Jones], who threatens Duke's position as Alpha Male. The internal rivalry is intensified by the arrival of regional manager Suzie Quinze [Rene Russo]. On top of that, someone is out to get Duke out of the way (permanently). Freeman pulls out all the stops in this cheerful, silly comedy with an attractive cast of veterans. Highlight: the limbo dancing.
