Nanà lives alone with her cat Marcel in Firenze where she runs a small bookshop. She is devastated because of a noble family and a failed love affair. She has been living a lonely life for a long time, but she has no desire to change her life. Following the marriage of her youngest sister Beatrice to the sympathetic striver Alessandro, Nanà's life takes a positive turn.
