The Liberators plot

Medieval art treasures, which were confiscated by the Nazis, are missing at the end of the Second World War. Were they destroyed in the chaos of the last battles? Or were these millennial masterpieces stolen by the advancing American troops? For more than forty years, the mystery remains unsolved. This documentary follows a German art detective through the New York art world and military records to the most unlikely destination: a small town on the Texas prairie. The film poses intriguing questions about the art thief's motivations and the place where things are so far waiting to be discovered.
