Neu in Unserer Familie plot
The Jansen-Balzer family moves from Cologne to Berlin. Mother Marit and father Jonas as well as their children Selma and Luis are looking forward to building a new life in a new city. The family bonds together and blesses the new home with a loud jam session. A stunned neighbor notes that there are no traditional gender roles in this quirky family. Marit and Jonas also distinguish themselves from other parents in another way: they allow each other a great deal of freedom and promise not to keep each other's secrets, not even from the children.
