Just watched this movie on recommendation. A meager 'Gone Girl' effect. And as some here have already mentioned: a pale imitation of 'Fatal Attraction'.
Probably a very engaging film for young people, but I have seen better. Even at that age.
In between the confusing storyline, I was on my phone every now and then. Pretty distracted, then.
The actors, whom we may know from various other 2017/2018 teen movies, acted, unfortunately, very poorly. I think I would have been more captivated by strong acting. The storyline, despite finding it confusing, was actually better than I expected. The visuals were also good, although I must say that I spent 75% of the time watching a night shot. I believe the director thought that everything in the dark has to be "scary" anyway.. Additionally, a number of things caught my attention:
- A shot in which a car is being driven in the left lane (driving against the flow of traffic). The mirroring of the image was not used effectively there.
- The shot of Holly in pajamas, messy hair, but her lips looked like no one had kissed them that night. Perfectly styled --> fail.
- The last shot, where Tyler celebrated his little sister's birthday with his girlfriend, was really MEGA unnecessary. It should have just ended at 'Promise?' .....aaaannnd CUT, roll end-credits, guys.. It's a wrap!
It could have been better, a 2.5 because you can view it as a 'I'm bored' movie, and those movies deserve to be just as good.

The film reminded me very slightly of Single White Female, though it can never hold a candle to it. A mediocre thriller in which this story has already been milked dry many times. However, the story itself is fine.
Weak acting, little depth. Beautiful visuals and scenery, though. Nice for a Sunday afternoon.

I went into this film without many expectations. The story managed to captivate me, but the execution felt a bit contrived at times. Holly was a very dangerous person. Unfortunately, I have encountered toxic people myself. The key is to recognize them in time and keep your distance. I found the film suspenseful, even though the acting wasn't necessarily of a high standard. But for an evening of watching a movie without thinking too much, this film is suitable.
