"Happiness is just a few steps away"

“Alive and Kicking” gives the viewer an intimate glimpse through insiders into the culture of today's swing dance world, while also shedding new light on the issues it faces in modern society. For swing dancers, it doesn't matter what kind of difficulties they have in their lives. They are filled with joy, excitement and even dizziness as they dance. Swing dancing strives for happiness. Most people think of happiness as a passive emotion: if something good happens, they will be happy. But we all have the opportunity to experience joy, even under the worst of circumstances, once we realize that this happiness exists within us.
