Striking lack in this documentary of his ex, Michelle Williams, with which such a hole is made in the reliability of the historiography shown about the real life of Heath Ledger that biography and vision remained a too distant tangle that could not be unravelled. Too many essential questions were left unanswered or dismissed as sidelined, with the whole documentary degenerating into a too sweet aftertaste about a proverbial ideal (in-law) son.
Perhaps the grief was still too great and too fresh.

Nothing but good from the dead, as it turns out once again. Based on this documentary, you would almost expect that the actor, who died in 2008, would be proclaimed a saint. Fortunately, there are also interview fragments with colleagues, friends and family who do have something meaningful to say, so that the documentary is still somewhat balanced. When you see the archive footage and film fragments passing by, it quickly becomes clear that with the death of Ledger, a great talent was lost much too soon.
