Empire of the Tsars: Romanov Russia with Lucy Worsley plot

In 1613, 16-year-old Mikhail Romanov is offered the crown of Russia. But it is Peter the Great, a ruthless and ambitious Tsar, who will make Russia a modern state from 1682 and give it a new maritime capital: Saint Petersburg. Among other things, Lucy Worsley takes a closer look at the life and influence of Catherine the Great, Tsarina of Russia for over 30 years and as such the most powerful woman on earth, but also examines how the difficult family life of the Tsar and his family further crumble and the role that Grigori Rasputin played in this.
