For me a technological unique: the first film that I have seen from start to finish on my mobile phone. 'The File' (2017) doesn't do much different from 'Silk Road' (2017) from a few weeks ago, but it's worked out a lot more believable here. Stefanie van Leersum is a beautiful hacker girl, with her divine cheekbones. It has beautiful gothic locations and tasteful filters with dark tones. Grunberg wouldn't be Grunberg if it wasn't filled with Freudian elements about fathers and mothers. Only Nasrdin Dchar stands out as an unsubtle prophet of doom, who talks about 'vengeance angels' and 'justice' in all his dialogues. It would be nice if he had been a little less of a theatrical actor and a little more of a believable character.

Didn't experience a single exciting moment, despite the so-called hack scenes.

Lilian's voiceover is emotionless. Her dialogues are quite stiff and her voice-over is emotionless. In addition, there is no chemistry between the players. The film comes across as too clinical and quickly “dead”.

Not exactly a thriller that thrills me: boring!

Lillian [Stefanie van Leersum] is a student at TU Delft who specializes in cryptography. When a cybersecurity company offers her an internship, her hacker friends aren't thrilled. But when Lilian sees an opportunity to take revenge on the bank where her recently deceased father worked, she decides to take the opportunity. But even a highly intelligent hacker like Lillian has to be very careful if she wants to fool the experts at this company unnoticed. Cyber crime does not lend itself well to a visually exciting thriller and Korthals Altes has no solution for that problem either. Judith Goudsmit's screenplay tries to add some drama through a fight between Lillian and her mother [Roos Oudehand] and a potentially dangerous romance, but the mix of cybercrime and drama doesn't work.
