Zorg om Daan plot

In 2014, Jacomien and Paul Wolfkamp from Terwolde make the most difficult and saddest decision of their lives. Their son Daan (then 12) has to leave the house. They can no longer take care of their multiple handicapped son. This search was recorded by documentary maker Nan Rosens. She followed Jacomien and Paul for two years, looking for a suitable replacement home for their son. As a baby, Daan had a brain haemorrhage. As a result, he has spasticity, is in a wheelchair, has poor eyesight, speaks sparsely, has epilepsy and has the mental capacity of a three-year-old. Initially, Jacomien wanted to continue to care for their multiple handicapped son until Daan is 18. But Daan starts puberty.
