Heavy Traffic plot

Heavy Traffic is an animated film with pieces of live action and shows us a look in New York from around 1970. Crime and sex is as busy as traffic in a pinball machine: constant scoring. The story revolves around Michael, an underground cartoonist who still lives at home with his Jewish mother who has a problem and his father, a pummel-like slob. Michael wants to escape the urban filth through his art. The atmosphere turns explosively violent when Michael hooks up with black waitress Carole. This angers Michael's racist father as well as one of Carole's jealous suitors.
