Tragicomedy about a sophisticated woman who pays back her adulterous husband in the same coin: “(…) I've balanced our accounts.”

The role of the assertive wife is tailor-made for the always somewhat chic Norma Shearer. It earned her an Oscar. For the rest, the acting here and there still bears some traces of the silent film era, but generally speaking, the film has stood the test of time well. One of the better films in this genre from the early 1930s.
