Stories of six New Zealanders who served at Gallipoli during World War I are brought back to life in this documentary. The animated interviews are based on diaries, letters and memoirs of the six people who fought. The stories are about war, friendship, loss and the rescue.

On April 25, 1915, an Australian and a New Zealand vision landed on the beach near Ari Burnu to take part in the battle for Gallipoli, strategically important for the safe passage of ships to Constantinople/Istanbul and the Black Sea. That story was made into a compelling film in 1981 with Mel Gibson in the leading role. Pooley bases her reconstruction of this disastrous military campaign on the letters or diaries of five soldiers and a nurse. In doing so, she paves the way for different perspectives. Fairly interesting, even if it never becomes as profound as Peter Jackson's They Shall Not Grow Old. The animation cannot match the original images,
