Flucht nach Berlin plot
Unable to escape the forced collectivization, farmer Güden from Saxony-Anhalt decides to flee to the West. Wife and child are sent ahead because Güden still has a score to settle with SED party man Baade. Then he is driven to West Berlin by a Swiss journalist. But Baade, who was dismissed as party official at the hands of Güden, is now also on his way to the capital.
