After Picasso's death on April 8, 1973, the painter's legacy must be divided. While an inventory of his household effects is being made, his many heirs (lawful and illegitimate) discover in his various residences a unique art treasure: tens of thousands of paintings, which he had kept all his life, from his first sketches to his last canvases. The appraiser would take more than three years to inventory 120,000 pieces.
