The Duel plot
"Vengeance cannot be denied."
The year is 1887 and the esteemed preacher Abraham Brant is a prominent figure in the small town of Mount Hermon, Texas. Everywhere he goes death and destruction seem to follow him. When a number of bodies are found near his current home, on the banks of the Rio Grande, the weary Texas Ranger David Kingston is sent to investigate. However, Abraham is the one who robbed David of his father in his youth, so that feelings of revenge begin to build up in David.

Great Western. Well acted. Woody Harrelson in particular plays a creepy bastard. The plot comes a little early. The ending of the film is no longer surprising. I found the turn in the behavior of David's wife unbelievable.
All in all, an entertaining movie.

Excellent film that takes the time to build up the story. Because the tempo is a bit slower, it comes down to the dialogues, and they are generally in excellent order. Something that fits well with Harrelson's qualities, but Hemsworth is not much inferior to it. *3.5
