Félix et Meira plot
Meira is a young Hasidic Jewish woman and mother who lives in the Montreal Mile End neighborhood. She is dissatisfied with her marriage and her life and against her faith she listens to soul music and takes the pill. The secular francophone Felix is an odd loner who lives nearby and mourns the recent death of his estranged father. Felix becomes intrigued by Meira and hopes her religious devotion can provide insight into his loss. Although she initially rejects him, they later begin to meet in secret and a mutual affection develops.
