Fyrvaktarens Dotter plot

After a failed relationship, wealthy scientist Frank Helmer goes on vacation to the sea to clear his mind. Here he befriends the lighthouse keeper and his daughter Awa. Awa and Frank fall in love and get married. After they have a daughter together, they leave for the city. Everything seems to be going well at first, but Awa is beginning to feel less and less at home in the big city and feels that she is hindering Frank in his scientific career.
