Jeremy Renner is releasing a music project inspired by his near-fatal snowplough accident on New Year's Day.
Nearly 11 months ago, the Marvel star was struck by a snowplough in an effort to save his nephew from harm, giving him critical injuries to his chest and legs. He was airlifted to a local hospital near Washoe Country, Nevada and thereafter his representatives confirmed that he was in a stable but critical condition.
Just a couple of days later, Renner posted an image of himself in hospital on Instagram while also thanking fans for their support. Two weeks after that, he was released home to continue his recovery and he later revealed that the accident broke 30 bones in his body.
He is still in recovery but is on the mend as he recently posted an update on Instagram of a video of himself in the gym.
And, he is using the incident to get creative.
"A collection of music we wrote about different milestones in my journey of recovery since Jan 1st this year. Love and Titanium has been painful, deeply healing, and ultimately cathartic for me to create," he shared on social media. "I hope I get the courage to share with you all."
Renner's list of injuries
In a previous interview with Diane Sawyer for Disney+, the host listed the injuries that Renner suffered in the accident:
"Eight ribs broken in 14 places, right knee and right ankle broken, left leg tibia broken, left ankle broken, right clavicle broken, right shoulder broken, socket broken, the jaw and the mandible broken, a lung collapsed and pierced from the rib bone - your liver."
Renner, who is emotional at parts of the interview, insists he would do it all over again if it meant saving the life of his nephew.
