Arnold Schwarzenegger reckons he is President of the United States material.
The legendary actor first went into politics in the early 2000s when he successfully ran to become Governor of California, a post which he held between 2003 and 2011.
Arnie has since returned to acting, but he still wants the job in the Oval Office.
“I feel like I would make a great president,” he told the BBC.
"Everything I’ve accomplished was because of America.
“America gave me so many opportunities and the American people were so embracive, and they just received me with open arms. There was no one there that stopped me from my success. So the only thing that I can’t do, which is run for president, I’m not going to complain about that."
Unfortunately for Arnie, he can never run to be POTUS as he was not born in the United States.
Schwarzenegger wants a younger president
The upcoming 2024 election in the USA could see Joe Biden (80) go up against Donald Trump (77). Both men have already served as president and aren't exactly spring chickens, which is why Schwarzenegger is hoping for a younger president in the near future.
“I just hope that America finds some really young blood,” he confessed.
“Because to me, it is a little bit odd that we are having a battle between people today in the late 70s and early 80s, rather than people in the 40s and 50s or maybe even younger and have them have a chance at this great, great job.”
