The Deputy plot
Clay McCord, a Silver City shopkeeper in the 1880s, is a very good marksman. However, he refuses to use his gun because he believes that guns are the main cause of violence. Yet he is regularly persuaded to keep order in the city as Sheriff Simon Fry's deputy when the latter is absent.
