American Primeval plot

In 1857, various groups and individuals fight for survival and control of the land in the west. The violent clashes of cultures, religions and communities occur because those involved truly believe that the area is their destiny. One of them is Brigham Young, who leads the members of the Mormon church. Fleeing widespread persecution, violence and humiliation, they travel to Utah to build a safe haven and stronghold. Young will do anything to ensure the survival of his group.

Wat een geweldige serie. Eindelijk eens een western van niveau op de streaming kanalen. Wat een verademing t.o.v. Koreaanse speeltjes. Qua sfeer lijkt het veel op Brimstone (ook een hele fijne film). Erg goed geacteerd. Keihard zonder het grove geweld te verbloemen. Een periode en context die minder bekend is: net voor de burgeroorlog, protectionisme van Mormonen. De benarde positie van de inheemse bevolking die zich laat gebruiken door de blanken. Dit alles verpakt in een prima thriller. Verslavend. Bingewatching verzekerd.

What a great series.

Finally a western of quality on the streaming channels. What a breath of fresh air compared to Korean toys.

In terms of atmosphere it is very similar to Brimstone (also a very nice film).

Very well acted.

Hard as nails without disguising the brutal violence.

A period and context that is less known: just before the civil war, protectionism of Mormons. The plight of the native population who let themselves be used by the whites.

All this wrapped in a great thriller. Addictive. Bingewatching guaranteed.

Ik gebruik MovieMeter al vele jaren om even snel info op te halen als ik van een film of serie iets wil weten, nooit heb ik een reactie geplaatst……. Deze komt uit het niets voor mij, ik dacht vandaag (inmiddels gisteren) nou ik zal de eerste aflevering eens aanzetten en zet net de laatste uit! Wat een fantastisch serie, meer van dit graag. Hoog tempo en kakt nergens in, lekker bruut ook allemaal, heerlijk….. ❤️
