Franck and his old friends enjoy spending their weekends hunting together. One Sunday, they encounter another group of hunters who target them without explanation. When one of them is shot, Franck's friends retaliate. The four friends barely escape and keep the incident a secret. Franck, along with his wife, Krystel, tries to rebuild his old life, but in the days that follow, he begins to feel like he and his friends are being watched, or worse, followed by hunters now bent on revenge.

Na beschuldigingen van plagiaat kiest Traqués voor transparantie: bij elke aflevering wordt niet alleen het bronmateriaal vermeld— het boek Shoot van Douglas Fairbairn uit 1973—maar ook de gelijknamige verfilming uit 1976. Het verhaal speelt zich af in de ruige Franse Alpen rond Albertville en ontvouwt zich als een psychologische mysterythriller met survival-elementen. De zesdelige serie weet niet volledig te overtuigen. De vier hoofdpersonages blijven eendimensionaal en de vele, soms onafgeronde over elkaar heen buitelende subplots zorgen voor onrust. Traqués heeft zeker zijn kwaliteiten. Het scenario biedt een aantal geslaagde wendingen en houdt de kijker voortdurend op scherp met de vraag wie er te vertrouwen is. De dreigende sfeer van het berglandschap werkt daarbij sterk in het voordeel van de serie, net als de aanwezigheid van Mélanie Laurent, die extra gewicht geeft aan het geheel en het enige karakter dat nadenkt voordat ze iets doet. Ondanks de oneffenheden kijkt Traqués daardoor vlot weg als een spannende thriller. Een verhaal waarin uiteindelijk maar één vraag centraal staat: wie overleeft deze survival of the shootist?

Following accusations of plagiarism, Traqués opts for transparency: for every episode, not only is the source material cited—the 1973 book Shoot by Douglas Fairbairn—but also the 1976 film adaptation of the same name. The story is set in the rugged French Alps around Albertville and unfolds as a psychological mystery thriller with survival elements.

The six-part series fails to fully convince. The four main characters remain one-dimensional, and the many, sometimes unfinished, overlapping subplots create a sense of unease. Traqués certainly has its qualities. The script offers a number of successful twists and constantly keeps the viewer on edge with the question of who can be trusted.

The menacing atmosphere of the mountain landscape works strongly to the series' advantage, as does the presence of Mélanie Laurent, who lends extra weight to the whole and is the only character who thinks before acting. Despite the rough edges, Traqués is therefore an easy watch, like a suspenseful thriller. A story in which ultimately only one question takes center stage: who survives this survival of the shootist?
