Ahsoka plot

The Galactic Empire has fallen. Former Jedi warrior Ahsoka Tano must investigate a looming threat to a fragile galaxy. To this end, she travels from one end of this galaxy to the other in search of Grand Admiral Thrawn, a former commander in the former Galactic Empire.

De zoveelste spin-off van Star Wars en wederom niet heel geweldig. Het personage Ahsoka (op de automatische piloot gespeeld door Rosario Dawson) is hier behoorlijk suf en vooral saai. De serie moet het dan ook vooral hebben van enkele kleurrijke bijrollen, waarbij David Tennant in positieve zin opvalt als de stem van robot Huyang. Van de acht afleveringen is alleen de vijfde echt de moeite waard, met een fijne gastrol van Hayden Christensen. De sfeer die in die aflevering wordt getroffen mist in de rest van de serie, hoe mooi en verzorgd alles er verder ook uit ziet. Er zal ongetwijfeld een tweede reeks komen en die zal ik vast ook weer gaan kijken, maar vooralsnog is dit niet heel bijzonder.

The series relies mainly on some colorful supporting roles, with David Tennant standing out in a positive way as the voice of robot Huyang. Of the eight episodes, only the fifth is really worth watching, with a fine guest role by Hayden Christensen. The atmosphere that is captured in that episode is missing from the rest of the series, no matter how beautiful and neat everything else looks. There will undoubtedly be a second series and I will probably watch it again, but for now this is not very special.
