After turbulent years, the Meiland family really wants to go on holiday and spend Christmas in another country. For example, Martien and Erica previously celebrated Christmas in their chateau in France, and the family previously immersed themselves in the snow, the wintry atmosphere and the Christmas culture in Sweden's Lapland. This year they make a sunny cruise on the Mediterranean Sea, where they visit a Christmas market in Barcelona.
