The Long Song plot

In 19th century Jamaica, a strong-willed young slave girl July works on a plantation owned by the hideous Caroline Mortimer. At some point, the charming Robert Goodwin arrives on the island and is appointed as the new overseer. July and Caroline are both intrigued by his apparently revolutionary determination to improve the plantation for both the slaves and the owner.
