The Gold plot

This series opens with the events of November 26, 1983, when six armed men break into the Brink's-Mat security depot near London's Heathrow Airport. Unexpectedly, they find gold worth 26 million pounds there. What begins as "a typical Old Kent Road armed robbery" according to detectives at the time becomes a major event in British crime history that would be remembered for years to come. It was even the largest theft in world history at the time.

I found the second season even better than the first. This is indeed top quality, with a brilliant Bonneville. His performance reminded me of Downton Abbey, where he was also simply outstanding.

And this whole story of the gold has always fascinated me..

Beautiful series with a brilliant cast and an absolute must-see...
