Shtisel plot

Akiva and Shulem Shtisel, father and son, sit on a small balcony overlooking the streets of Jerusalem's Geula neighborhood. A year has passed since the mother died. All the other children have left the nest and only Shulam and Akiva remain. They argue and make amends and laugh at themselves and the rest of the world. Everything will change when Akiva meets Elisheva.

Shtisel season 1

Intriguing insight into the bizarre way of life of the ultra-Orthodox community in Jerusalem. Very strong characters, each and every one convincingly portrayed. With the absolute favorite grandmother Shtisel. Other characters, especially father Shtisel, initially evoke aversion, but gradually develop in such a way that you become more and more sympathetic to them. I would have liked a little more atmospheric images. Almost everything takes place indoors, so we get to see very little of the beautiful city.
