Marie Antoinette plot
Marie Antoinette, who was betrothed to France's Crown Prince Louis XVI at the age of 14, is trying to make her way through the French court, and is under enormous pressure to give birth to a male heir. She had their first child only eight years into her marriage to the Crown Prince. It also examines Louis XV's relationship with Madame du Barry, a poverty-stricken courtesan who became the king's maîtresse-en-titre until his son Louis XVI came to power and promptly exiled her.

A series based on the life of Marie Antoinette, which is pretty truthful as far as I can tell. Apparently there will be another season, because the series ends before the revolution breaks out. We see how Marie Antoinette arrives in France, has to win her place in the court, becomes queen, struggles with a sexless marriage and is part of the court intrigue, where the makers do not try to hide her character flaws. In terms of plot, we mainly have to talk about telling the history and drama of the court intrigues, otherwise there is not exactly a big message.
Visually, the series is in any case very neat. The costumes are gorgeous and the camera work is more than decent. Not the most artistic, but certainly much more than simple registration. 3*.
