Janet King returns after a year of maternity leave determined to prove she hasn't lost her sharpness yet, but she returns to a very changed department of public litigation. Under mounting political pressure, Director Tony Gillies has formed a grueling alliance with Chief Inspector Jack Rizzoli, and Janet's job is threatened by a rising star in her field, Owen Mitchell. Mitchell doesn't shy away from going outside his box to win big cases.
