I'm Dying Up Here plot

I'm Dying Up Here is set in the infamous LA stand-up scene of the 1970s, where the careers of most comedy superstars began. The series offers a glimpse into the inspiring and disturbed lives of the people who do everything they can to make their audience laugh. At its center is Goldie's, a comedy club on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles, headed by Goldie Herschlag. The comedy scene is turned upside down when newcomer Clay Appuzzo appears on 'The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson'.
