Helsinki-Syndrooma plot

Family man Elias Karo lost his income, had to fire his staff and saw all grant applications rejected. For Elias, the corona crisis turned out to be the straw that finally overflowed his bucket full of financial difficulties. Elias was also a victim of the major economic recession in Finland in the 1990s. To cope with the recession, at the age of eighteen he guaranteed a loan of four million Finnish marks to his father's company. It was to no avail, because less than a year later the bank filed for bankruptcy, and within three days the family had lost everything. Elias carried the debt around for thirty years, and saw all his hopes for financial recovery lost due to the corona crisis. That vicious circle of financial misery makes something snap in him.
