Grijpstra is in his forties, married and a father. He is a calm, melancholy man. De Gier is single and in his thirties. He is an impulsive man who is very open in life. His cat Olivier is his only responsibility at home. Grijpstra's responsibility at home goes a lot further than that. His wife also has a job and expects her husband to do some chores at home as well. Reason enough for him to visit De Gier every now and then. Without expressing it, the gentlemen are actually jealous of each other's lives. Grijpstra on the loose and free life of the Vulture. And De Gier on the stability and family life of Grijpstra.
