Grand Army plot

Five students at the largest public high school in Brooklyn try to perform, survive, break free and shape the future in a chaotic world. All five have their own story. For example, the outspoken Joey Del Marco struggles with family problems. The Chinese girl Leila Kwan Zimmer has been adopted by Jewish parents and struggles with identity problems. Siddhartha Pakam does his best to meet everyone's expectations, trying to balance his South Asian background with life in an American high school. Dominique Pierre is a so-called 'hustler' who chases her own dreams. Then there's Jay Johnson. from Spanish Harlem. who dreams of studying at Julliard.
