Die Neue Zeit plot
It is 1919. The First World War is over, the old empires have collapsed. Because the past has brought nothing but misery, a wave of renewal has swept through Europe. During this period of turmoil, Dörte Helm, an art history student at the Bauhaus School, hears founder Walter Gropius' first speech about a new era. She decides to join his movement. His innovative approach, too provocative for many, inspires her. Like many kindred spirits, she becomes a persuasive adherent. Soon the master and his student get a relationship. They are young and in love, energetic and radical. Meanwhile, the school is developing into a breeding ground for art, architecture and feminism.
