Political drama series in which reality and fiction go hand in hand. De Faction tells the story about the ins and outs within the VPN, the Vrijschijn Partij Nederland. Although the party and its members are fictitious, they are part of the (political) reality. The current cabinet is also the cabinet in the series and current events are woven into the script at the last minute.

De Fractie season 1

Dropped out after four episodes. It is made from a very interesting starting point where fact and fiction intertwine to paint an up-to-date picture of politics in The Hague. In reality, unfortunately, it is little more than a gimmick where well-known politicians and political reporters occasionally walk through the screen. Or very occasionally irrelevant shots are mounted through it where a political issue is being discussed. Not bad, but to say that the storylines themselves are fascinating?

With episodes of less than half an hour, it manages to get surprisingly boring and uninteresting. Lots of 'political' drivel and little emotion. Might be fun for the single fanatic who gets excited about all facets of the political game. Had a murder or overarching theme thrown in here and you might have kept my interest. Personally, I prefer regular reporting to this mediocre attempt to pick up on more successful political series.
