Boys from the Blackstuff plot

England, early 1980s. The harsh economic Thatcher policy has had repercussions on the gray working-class neighborhoods in the major cities. We see the events of a group of friends and their families in a neighborhood of Liverpool. They have previously worked in Middlesbrough in a large asphalt factory, but are now unemployed. Despair and attempts to flee are their portion.
