Between plot

Between is about Wiley Day, a pregnant teenager and daughter of a pastor who lives in Pretty Lake. Pretty Lake is also the place where a mysterious illness kills everyone over 22. Soon a quarantine zone is set up and the inhabitants of the town are left to their own devices.

Overall better than season 1, but still not great.

Season 2 has to deal with the same problems that were also seen in the first season: poor writing and acting. It never gets really exciting, even though there are regular reasons for that. Characters' dialogues and actions often feel unrealistic. As far as the acting is concerned, it is still Jesse Carere (Adam) and Jennette McCurdy (Wiley) who are too low a level. I can still get it about Adam, but I quickly grew tired of Wiley's expressionless facial expressions. Opposite are Justin Kelly (Chuck), Kyle Mac (Ronnie), Jack Murray (Mark), and Steven Grayhm (Liam Cullen) who do score a pass.

The advantage of Between is that it is only 6 epis, which is relatively easy to get through. It's not really good anywhere, but it's all entertaining. I still think it's a great starting point, and because of the cliffhanger of this second season 2, I secretly hope that Netflix gives this series a third season.
