A Man in Full plot

Charles Croker, once the college football star, is now a middle-aged Atlanta conglomerate king whose outsized ego clashes with reality. Charles has a 29,000-hectare plantation for quail hunting, a young and demanding second wife and a half-empty office complex with a staggering debt load. As the real estate mogul faces sudden bankruptcy, he tries to defend his empire against those who want to capitalize on his downfall.

Deze serie van David E. Kelley, de maker van het fantastische "Big little lies" gaat zeker niet veel potten breken. Er spelen redelijke goede acteurs in mee maar verschillende zijn absoluut niet geschikt voor hun rol. Daniels is het ergste, hij is gewoon vreselijk, plaats daar de Brian Cox van Succession en het is al heel iets anders. Het verhaal is totaal niet boeiend en de serie probeert grappig te zijn, maar is dit helemaal niet, eerder belachelijk. The Guardian zegt terecht: skin-crawling Trump satire. Bijna alle critici zijn het erover eens, belabberde serie, en dit is meer dan terecht.

This series by David E. Kelley, creator of the fantastic "Big Little Lies" is certainly not going to break many pots. There are some reasonably good actors involved, but several are absolutely unsuitable for their roles. Daniels is the worst, he's just awful, put Succession's Brian Cox on there and it's something completely different. The story is not interesting at all and the series tries to be funny, but it is not at all, rather ridiculous.

The Guardian rightly says: skin-crawling Trump satire.

Almost all critics agree, this is a lousy series, and this is more than justified.

volgens mij een beetje flauwe pastiche op Trump. niet in new/york maar in Atlanta, Georgia. af en toe wat grappige scenes. het lijntje met die jongeman in de gevangenis kon ik niet goed plaatsen. ik vind Jeff Daniels wel goed gecast als enorme zelfingenomen hork.

I think it's a bit of a lame pastiche on Trump.

some funny scenes every now and then.

I couldn't quite place the connection with that young man in prison.

I think Jeff Daniels is well cast as a huge self-righteous jerk.

Ik heb wel genoten van deze serie. Jeff Daniels vond ik geweldig spelen met zijn typische accent. Ook de rechtzaak van de man van de assistene van Daniels gaf extra jus. Het einde vond ik wel speciaal, maar zeker geen gedrocht.

I did enjoy this series. I thought Jeff Daniels played great with his typical accent. Also the trial of the husband of Daniels' assistant gave extra juice. I thought the ending was special, but certainly not a monstrosity.
