Life on Mars plot

Chief Inspector (DCI) Sam Tyler of the Greater Manchester Police Force, is hit by a car in 2006 and then wakes up in 1973. There he turns out to be working as an inspector under the direction of DCI Gene Hunt, who uses few gentle investigative methods. The question is whether Sam has gone mad, is in a coma or has really gone back in time.
