Twelve bodies are found on the French-German border in the Black Forest. The case stirs confused memories for Camille Hartmann, an investigating judge whose career has been on the back burner since she suffered amnesia from a car accident. It soon becomes clear that the judge has a very close connection to the murders. That is why Erik Maes, the commander, agrees to involve her in the investigation of the killer. Erik's suspicions eventually turn to Thomas Montal, who is none other than the friend of Camille's daughter Iris.
