Jordskott plot

Jordskott is a gripping Scandinavian thriller from Sweden. Seven years after the disappearance of her daughter Josefine, police investigator Eva Thörnblad is still processing the grief of her loss. Although her daughter is said to have drowned, Eva herself thinks that someone took her child at the Silverhöjd lake on that fateful day. When a young boy goes missing in the same forest, Eve delves into the dark mystery that haunts her. When she is involved in the investigation, she learns that many deep and dark forces have been activated. Eva now faces the toughest of questions: how far is she willing to go to protect the only one she loves?

Ontzettend goed in elkaar gezet mysterie. Dat is trouwens het genre dat veel beter bij deze serie past dan misdaad/thriller. Het is een lange zit, dik 9 uur, maar absoluut de moeite waard; boeiend en spannend van begin tot einde, gespeeld door een prima cast. Jammer van enkele missers in het plot, maar dat viel in het niet bij het totale verhaal. Als mysteries jouw ding is, daarbij ook nog van Scandinavische verhalen houdt, dan is dit een echte aanrader.

Very well put together mystery. By the way, that's the genre that fits this series much better than crime/thriller. It is a long sit, well over 9 hours, but absolutely worth it; captivating and exciting from start to finish, played by a great cast. Too bad about some flaws in the plot, but that was nothing compared to the overall story. If mysteries are your thing, and you also like Scandinavian stories, then this is highly recommended.

Niet helemaal geslaagde tiendelige zweedse televisieserie, die begint als mysterieus misdaaddrama maar al snel afbuigt richting fantasy en folklore. Een richting waar ik helaas niet zo veel mee kan. Eigenlijk wordt alles steeds vlakker en vooral suffer naarmate de reeks vordert. Tegen de tijd dat de climax zich aandiende was ik er eigenlijk al klaar mee. Degelijk en sfeervol in elkaar gezet, maar gewoonweg niet boeiend en spannend genoeg.

A direction that unfortunately I can't do much with. In fact, everything becomes more and more flat and especially dull as the series progresses. By the time the climax arrived I was actually done with it. Solid and attractively put together, but simply not fascinating and exciting enough.
