Briarpatch plot
Allegra Dill, a high-ranking Senate staffer, returns to her Texas hometown of San Bonifacio, known locally as "Saint Disgrace." She returns to investigate the murder of her sister, a local murder detective. She appears to have been killed by a car bomb. However, the moment of return could not have been worse as there is great unrest in the town.

Briarpatch is a fine, Fargo-esque narrative in a mix of comedy, drama and thriller. The acting is excellent and the story full of surprises and sometimes delightfully over the top. After a smooth start, episodes 3 and 4 drop a bit and although the starting level is no longer reached, it remains an attractive series. 10 episodes seems a bit much for a story that could have been told in 7 or 8 parts. A lot of atmosphere (involuntarily had to think of the series Quarry), some weirdos, sista-love, corrupt politicians, and half an escaped livestock from the zoo. I can't make it any less.
