Castle itself has a very nice story. Yet it could have been so much more.
The potential is definitely there in this first season. The main problem is that it's always just not there. Somehow, sometimes it just won't come out. What makes this a bit better than many csi and detective series is Nathan Fillion who gives so much more to the series with his game. His interaction with Stana Katic is also very fresh. A very nice duo. In addition, some other nice characters such as the grandmother and the daughter. Besides the police work, there is also enough time to represent the family in a fun way. It gets even better towards the end. We get some nice episodes and still a fairly exciting climax. Castle season 1 has moments that are genius, but just too many moments that are just not.

The series is full of humor, but besides that it also has a very strong storyline and characters that are well developed and with which you build a kind of bond. It is not only a crime series, but also family life comes to the fore in Castle.
The best thing about the series is the cat and mouse game by Castle and Beckett, because from the very first episode you can feel that there is more going on between those two….

Castle = Mr. Perfect;
Detective Beckett = totally inept, couldn't solve a murder without Castle;
Alexis = a smart lady who has a mature answer ready for every question and in every situation;
and Castle's mom seems like a diva on the theater stage at all times.
- The murders and the plots: as simple, superficial and without any depth as the characters.
- The actors: mediocre.
- The credibility: zero.
- The voltage: zero.
- Comedy... huh, comedy???
Tastes differ, but I really don't understand where this series gets its stars. Doesn't reach Baantjer's ankles yet.
