Buiten de Zone plot

The series is set in the telephone exchange of a youth help service: the "Jongerenfoon", where five young, enthusiastic volunteers answer calls from young people with problems. The volunteers are: Raf Willems, Ubi Stevens, Robin Laureys, Merel Van Outrive, Roxanne Seynaeve. They rarely receive real calls (usually pranksters call them with the words, "Hi? A chick on a velo!") and thus waste their time daydreaming. These dreams are the real comedic aspect of the series, as they often give rise to absurd skits. Typical for the style of the program are the many references to historical or cultural matters, puns and light anarchic ridicule towards religion, education, youth life and sex.
