It is the year 2029. Sue is an elderly widow whose son, Michael, is moving out to save his marriage. Before he leaves, Michael buys a surprise for Sue to help her live independently: a second-hand AnnDroid Z58/100 Basic Eldercare Robot named Linda. Although Linda is an overly attentive and socially awkward robot, Sue soon discovers that she can manipulate the robot to settle minor arguments and run errands.
