The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy plot

This is the story of Arthur Dent, an ordinary Englishman whose life after the total destruction of the earth is saved by his friend Ford Prefect. Ford turns out to be an alien who tells Arthur about The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, an interactive book for travelers that tells you everything you've always wanted to know. They travel through the universe meeting friendly and less friendly creatures as they search for the ultimate question of life, the universe and everything.
