Police detectives Dave Starsky and Ken 'Hutch' Hutchinson scour the streets of Los Angeles in their red-and-white Gran Torino in search of criminals and con artists. Because they have a rather individual way of working, they are closely cared for by their boss Harold Dobey, but also often helped by the deranged informant Huggy Bear.
